What is Referral Marketing?
Referral marketing is a proactive, systematic and structured programme that encourages, informs, promotes and rewards your customer and contact base to talk as much as possible about you, your company, your product and your service to the people they know. This dramatically increases the number of referrals you received. WeCanDo.BIZ provides the perfect forum for referrals and endorsements. We provide you with automated features to drive reference collection and publication through our endorsement capabilities.
How is this different to other social networking websites I am already on?
WeCanDo.BIZ puts the emphasis on promoting the business ahead of the individual. Once you list your business, existing customers can be invited to connect with you. As each customer connects, they are invited to endorse your business. Each endorsement gets your business promoted higher in the website's Trusted Business Search, a searchable directory listing aimed at business buyers and consumers. More endorsements means more happy customers, increasing people's confidence in your business. We help ensure consumers and buyers achieve greater trust in the businesses they make a connection with whilst winning the business people new leads.
I don't have a business. Why should I join and use the site?
WeCanDo.BIZ helps you to find trusted businesses, whether you are a consumer or a business buyer. First, join WeCanDo.BIZ and start by easily build a network of contacts. Then, when you search for businesses using our service, we will tell you which of the listed businesses are endorsed by people you know. This helps you to make better decisions about where and who you buy from.
What do I get with my Basic account?
WeCanDo.BIZ offers free Basic accounts with robust features, including the ability to:
- Build and maintain a trusted network of unlimited size
- Connect with colleagues and friends
- Search for and view profiles of trusted businesses nationally or near your work or home
- See which businesses your contacts have endorsed
- Give your own endorsements for everyone to see

What is an 'endorsement'?
An endorsement on WeCanDo.BIZ is a recommendation of a business you know and trust, the details of which you would like to share. You can endorse businesses so that they can use your recommendation to boost their rankings on WeCanDo.BIZ. Plus your own contacts benefit from them too.
You can only endorse a business if you are connected to them through WeCanDo.BIZ as a customer. When writing your endorsement, make it as full and as informative as you can, expressing the aspects of the company, products and/or service you are most happy with. Everything you write will go to the business contact for them to review; you can also edit it later if you wish. You can specify before you submit the endorsement whether you want them to be able to share your endorsement with other WeCanDo.BIZ users
Once the business has reviewed your endorsement, they then share it for viewing with their business profile. The endorsement will use your name and your business name (if you have registered a business on WeCanDo.BIZ), but shows no more information than this, nor your contact details.
Then, when your contacts search WeCanDo.BIZ for businesses, if you have endorsed a business that matched their search, the business is listed higher and your contact is told of your endorsement. You can see which businesses your contacts have endorsed in the same way.
How do I endorse businesses?
Endorsing your favourite businesses is easy. First, find the business you are after using the WeCanDo.BIZ search area above. When you see the business listed, click on their company name and you will be able to read their current endorsements, plus add your own.
The other way to endorse a business is to use Invite More Contacts under My Contacts.
What if I am not happy with a business? Can an endorsement be negative?
If you are not happy with a business, a negative endorsement is not the way to voice your concerns, as it still adds to their ranking and the business will just hide what you have said from other users. If you wish to contact a business about bad service, please do so by using the messaging capability from their business profile or, if you have them as a contact, through My Contacts. Only positive endorsements will be shown publicly.
What if my business receives a negative endorsement?
If you receive a negative endorsement, or even one you are not happy to share, in can be marked as not for sharing under My Endorsements and no one but the sender will know you have received it.
What if I can't find the business I was looking for listed?
It may be you made your search too specific. Try searching again but remove any postcode or town and if you are logged in clear any ticks in the Near Home or Work boxes. Make any business types you are looking for as simply worded as possible, thinking of words they may use to list themselves under.
If you can't see your favourite business listed, at the bottom of the search results is a place where you can invite them to join -- fill it out and we will e-mail them on your behalf. If you are logged in when you do this, when they join the site we'll connect them to you automatically.
Who can view my profile on WeCanDo.BIZ and what information will they see?
Basic users do not have a publicly visible profile. This means that you will be able to search and add businesses to My Contacts and endorse them, but you will not be able to take advantage of 'being found'.
When you search for a business using WeCanDo.BIZ, those businesses who match the search criteria will be able to see you searched on them and message you through the website. They will not see or have access to more information about you. If you add them as a contact they can see only your e-mail address, but only if you state in My Profile that you wish to share it.
Because WeCanDo.BIZ is primarily a business to business network, upgrading to our Business, Business Pro or Enterprise Pro membership levels will ensure your profile is viewable and that you start to make use of the huge potential of your own worth and value.
Will I be bombarded with spam?
No. Never. Not through us! Because we hate spam as much as you do, we've designed WeCanDo.BIZ to minimize spam. Be assured that we will never sell your address to anyone for marketing purposes. Nor will your e-mail address be published on the site in a way that bots can grab it! See our Privacy Policy for details and make sure you edit your Alert Preferences to ensure you receive only the notifications you want to.
Will my contacts get spammed?
No, WeCanDo.BIZ will never send e-mail to your friends and colleagues without your permission. However, if you contact another user through WeCanDo.BIZ, we will send e-mail to that user on your behalf.
Why do WeCanDo.BIZ e-mails end up in my Junk Mail bin?
Unfortunately, many 'junk mail filters' default to sending mail from Social Networking sites straight to Junk. You can stop this by adding WeCanDo.BIZ to your 'acceptable list'. The method for doing this varies between e-mail clients but commonly, you need to 'right click' on the message in the junk folder and follow the option to add our domain to the safe senders list.
What if we have several staff members who want to use the site?
A business can register any number of people on WeCanDo.BIZ. They can have either Basic membership, which allows them to search and endorse; or they can have Business membership and have their own listings. We are happy to see multiple listings for companies and it improves your chances of being found.
In a forthcoming release we will allow you to consolidate those accounts under one company account with Enterprise Pro membership. This will allow each staff member to sign on as themselves, whilst providing centralised control of who can log in and the way your business is presented. It also enables you to consolidate your endorsements so that they are all listed together for each user profile.
We expect this feature to be available in September 2008.
Can I add a company logo to help my listing stand out?
Yes, you can do so if you upgrade to a Business Pro account (upgrades are not available during the Test Pilot stage).
What else can I do to ensure I am getting the most from WeCanDo.BIZ?
It's simple!
If you have a business, make sure you have registered it with us and completed the My Profile page with as much information as possible. Then invite your customers to come and endorse you. Once they have, make sure you maintain My Endorsements to share the ones you want everyone else to see. The more happy customers you are connected with and the more endorsements you collect and share, the better you get promoted!
If you are a consumer or buyer, you can make best use of WeCanDo.BIZ by inviting as many of your friends and colleagues to connect with you as you can; then ensuring you endorse businesses you are a customer of as soon as you see them appear on WeCanDo.BIZ. This way, when you search, you'll get to see the most trusted businesses listed first, along with those that your contacts endorse.
How do I close my WeCanDo.BIZ account?
You can close your account completely under My Profile when you log in. This will remove you completely, resulting in your Business profile being deleted (if you have one), and all your endorsements being removed from the system.
I've closed my WeCanDo.BIZ account. Why do I continue to receive invitations from WeCanDo.BIZ users?
Colleagues and friends may still be sending you invitations to join WeCanDo.BIZ if they'd like to see you join us again. If you don't want to receive such invitations, contact them directly to ask them to stop. We do not filter invitation requests that our members ask us to send on their behalf.
I can't remember my details! How do I get back in?
In order to sign in, you need to enter the e-mail address you registered with when you joined; and your password. If you cannot remember your password, click the Forgotten Password? link on the sign in page. If you can't remember your e-mail address, please contact help@wecando.biz.
What if I have been invited but lost my invitation
Even if you've lost your invitation, you can still join WeCanDo.BIZ. However, you will not be automatically connected with the sender of your original invitation when you register.
Do you use cookies (and what are they anyway)?
We do use cookies. When you log in to our website, your computer stores some information in a cookie; cookies allow our servers to know that you are already authenticated, and therefore allowed to access services or do things which are restricted to logged-in users. We may also use cookies to assist with personalisation; so that your own choices are reflected in what you see and do. The information contained in them stays on your PC however and can be accessed by our website only.

What are Biz Needs and how do they work?
Biz Needs enables you to summarise of your most urgent business need for our WeCanDo.BIZ Business members to respond to you if they are able to assist, either directly or through a contact they have.
When you enter a need, it appears in the Biz Feeds listing of contacts you have in My Contacts. Also, it goes out to other Business members that you do not have a connection with but where words you have entered match the keywords they entered when they registered their businesses. This is designed to match businesses to your need. Your Biz Need appears in their Biz Feeds list and they have the option to message you or add you as a contact, which you need to approve.
You can enter a business need or a personal need if you believe our Business members may be able to help, e.g. "John Smith needs a garage to service my car Greenwich". Profanities and any other breaches of our Terms of Use are not permitted.
Updating your Biz Need will overwrite any previous Biz Need you have entered and which is shown in the Biz Need panel.
What are Biz Feeds?
Biz Feeds are an update of activity relating to your WeCanDo.BIZ account and appear in My Profile. Biz Feeds include details of who has messaged you or requested contact; and endorsements, profile views and searches for businesses like yours if you are a Business member. You can find the detail behind the Biz Feed by clicking on the action linked in the Biz Feed item; or about the business by clicking on the business name in the Biz Feed item. If the Biz Feed item has come from an action by a Basic member you will not be able to view their profile. With any member type, however, you can see from the contact icon in that Biz Feed item what your connection is with them (and click on it to add them to My Contacts if you are not already connected) or click on the message icon to message them directly.
If you wish to change which Biz Feeds items you see and from whom, you can do so by clicking on Edit Preferences.
